Experienced Sign Maker / Fabricator

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of signage across a wide range of projects.

You will work both in the workshop and on-site, taking ownership of jobs from production through to installation, ensuring everything is completed to a high standard, on time, and in line with job specifications.

This role suits someone who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working across varied signage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabrication & Production

• Manufacture and assemble a variety of signage products
• Work with materials such as acrylic, ACP, aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel, corten steel, vinyl, and composites
• Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently
• Ensure all work meets quality and specification requirements

Installation

• Complete on-site signage installations to a high professional standard
• Install 3D signage, panels, window graphics, vehicle wraps, and more
• Work efficiently on-site while maintaining quality and safety
• Represent the business professionally when dealing with clients

Job Management & Preparation

• Read and interpret job sheets, drawings, and specifications
• Prepare materials, tools, and job kits prior to installation
• Identify and resolve potential issues before they impact production or install
• Ensure jobs are completed within allocated timeframes

Team Support & Mentorship

• Assist in guiding apprentices and junior team members
• Share knowledge and best practices
• Contribute to improving workshop efficiency and processes

Health & Safety

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
• Use tools and equipment safely
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in signage fabrication and/or installation
• Strong knowledge of signage materials and production methods
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications and drawings
• Experience using tools and workshop equipment

Highly Desirable

• Trade qualification in signwriting or similar
• Welding – Aluminium, Stainless Steel & Mild Steel
• CNC router & fibre laser experience
• Experience with vehicle wraps or advanced signage installations
• Forklift licence, EWP ticket, or White Card
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment
